Jewel Thief ver 2.6
11/21/96
NOTE!!
*** Special Note!! ***
A few versions back, I added in the feature that can allow any sysop to
become elgible for a free registered version of any of my other doors.
Built into Jewel Thief is a message that will be written to a file,
JEWEL.MSG, when a player reaches level 40, 60 and 80. This file has a
authenication code to let me know that a player has indead reached
one of these levels. When one of these levels are reached, send your
*.CFG and *.DAT files, along with the code from the message, and your
choice of doors to me, and I'll validate it and process your order.
*** End of Special Note ***
Although, Jewel Thief has been released for awhile, this doesn't mean
I'm through working on it, though. I've got a lot of ideas and plans to
add to Jewel Thief before the next couple of versions come out. Some of
the things I'm going to be adding:
- More and different levels, with different combinations of guards.
- Add in two new types of guards, The Sniffer and The Rock Hound.
- Bulletin for the InterBBS Scores
- Sysop configurable number of lives per game
- Messages between players, local & InterBBS
- Lots more
If you find a problem or have any suggestions, please contact
me via the different options that can be found in the M&S_INFO.DIZ
file and in the documentation. Even if it's a quick note about
what you have found, be sure and leave a way to contact you so
I can get more information if I need it.
Beta Testers:
I'd like to extend a big thanks to all the people that helped Beta
Test Jewel Thief. With their help I was able to identify problems
and make enhancements much faster than I would have on my own.
Although I can't name every single one, I would like to name a few:
Walter Cade of Arti BBS 1:398/2 - He has some of the best group of
people I've seen beta test a game; and Walter works them unmercifully.
Matt McClanahan of The Coliseum BBS (503) 692-6505 - The Artist behind
the opening screen.
The users of Com-Dat BBS - Who got first crack at all the bugs.
...and many more. I wish to thank you all.
Thanks
Mike
